Smart TVs can be categorized into plasma, LCD, LED and OLED.

LCD is Liquid Crystal Display with LED or Light Emitting Diodes is the light source fit for all kinds of lighting conditions.
OLED stands for Organic LED and offers extreme color accuracy, wider viewing angle and blur-free pictures on ultra-thin TV screens.
Display Resolution
The resolution level gives liberty to sit close to the TV and upscale the existing HD content for sharper images. The types are 4K Ultra HD, Full HD, and HD while higher-priced Smart TV models even offer 8K resolution.
Software Platform Used
The most common platforms are Android OS, webOS, Tizen, Roku TV, SmartCast, MyHomeScreen and Amazon Fire TV that are used by Sony, LG, Samsung, TCL, Vizio, Panasonic, and Toshiba respectively.
